This summer school is a joint teaching program of the ELLS Subject Area Bioeconomy, which was initiated to promote the transformation towards a bio-based circular economy.
The summer course will have a focus on the role of agriculture and forestry for bioeconomy, with a special emphasis on Austrian bioeconomy examples and on the importance of digitalization. The topics cover the entire life cycle of agrarian and forestry products – energy procurement, usage of raw material, methods of bio and food technology, recycling strategies and technologies, but also ethics and social aspects. An international perspective is added by inputs from the participants’ home countries. Systems and strategies will be explored in an interdisciplinary study context.
