On 4 September 2026, the SCAR Bioeconomy Working Group (SCAR BSWG) held an online meeting attended by 27 representatives of Member States and the European Commission, including doc. Hájek on behalf of the Platform for Bioeconomy of the Czech Republic. Representatives of DG RTD and DG AGRI presented an update on current EU policy initiatives (the new R&I Strategic Approach for agriculture, forestry and food systems, the EU Fertiliser Action Plan, the EU Livestock Strategy and the EU Protein Plan) as well as progress on implementing the EU Bioeconomy Strategy. The group presented the finalised Policy Brief on bioeconomy resilience in times of polycrisis, which will be discussed at the Global Bioeconomy Summit 2026 in Dublin (20–21 October 2026). The meeting also featured a presentation of the Action Plan of the CBE JU Working Group on Primary Producers. Outputs from the meeting are available in the attached documents.
